From Entrepreneur.com: 10 Web Marketing Trends for 2010
Where to invest, what to test, and which deserve a rest

Trend # 3: E-mail Marketing
Entrepreneur.com Advice: INVEST

DMWebZing Says: AGREE

This just seems like a no-brainer to the DMWebZing team. Whether you are maintaining e-mail blasts yourself or using a service to help you, the cost and investment to e-mail marketing is relatively low.

And while e-mail marketing has been actively used by many companies for years, there's no time like the present to get involved if your company isn't currently participating. From e-newsletters offering news and updates to coupons, discounts and special offers, e-mail is a great way to get in touch and stay in touch with your customers.

Is your e-mail list working for you?

Many companies spend years collecting email addresses and putting them in to a database. And, e-mail tools and services such as Constant Contact and Attain Response are making it easier for business owners to maintain their email lists and keep track of what they're, to whom e-mails are being sent to, and who is responding to them.

Just having an e-mail list and having an "effective" e-mail list may be the difference between sending e-mails with a purpose of publishing your thoughts and opinions and sending e-mails that will attract repeat customers, nurture leads in to referrals, educate consumers and generate new business.

Are you contacting the right people or just contacting people? Investing in an e-mail list may increase the probability your campaign is successful.

Fees for e-mail services and lists vary. But, if you aren't already using an e-mail service, we encourage you to take some time to research the different options available today. While one service may be working great for a friend or colleague, another service may be better in satisfying the specific goals of your e-mail marketing plan.

Are you weeding out the bad seeds of your email campaign?

Like so many other trends we will be investigating, including Social Network Marketing (next week) and Blogging (week 5), a lot of your investment may be in the time you spend cultivating your campaign. But like a well kept garden, if you don't weed out the bad e-mail addresses frequently, you may be maintaining a list that is doing damage or tracking erroneous statistics rather than providing success to your campaign.

It's worth noting that Entrepreneur.com states that 1/3 of consumers changed at least one of their e-mail addresses in 2009. Due to job changes and other economic factors, this is a good reminder to be mindful of current situations as you sift through your e-mail list for accurate and reliable sources. Size does not necessarily matter if your list is inaccurate, incomplete, contains old e-mail addresses or is targeting companies and people who are not relevant to your campaign.

How can DMWebZing help?

Step 1: Invest in a email service that will do the work for you

E-mail Marketing is one of those marketing avenues that your investment will probably be more in the time rather than in the money you actually spend.

If time is a high cost you can't or aren't willing to invest in, the DMWebZing team actively launches email campaigns and blogs several times each month for clients just like you!

DMWebZing can even help craft your campaign copy, choose the right e-mail service to support your campaign needs and see your entries are sent on-time and regularly throughout the year.

Step 2: If pictures are worth a million words... video is worth?

E-mails are great ways to stay in touch with clients. But can you imagine the impact your spoken word can have over a written message? Add a video message to your e-mail or blog entry!

Whether personalized to an individual recipient or a message that translates an entire user group or industry,
CityZing.biz is a wonderful way to develop professional video at a fraction of a cost of most video production companies.

Video can be embedded anywhere, making your investment of one video work across several Internet channels including e-mail campaigns.

Trend # 2: Paid Searches
Entrepreneur.com Advice: INVEST
DMWebZing Says: AGREE

Google is the one site we get the most inquiries about. Clients just want to know: "how can I be at the top of Google?" In a nutshell, the short answer is time and money. But much like the lottery, you have to play order to be eligible to win.

With the evolution of Paid Searches, Google is no longer alone in their offer of paid advertising, cost-per-click (CPC), AdWords, AdSense, banner ads, impressions, price-per-click (PPC)... you name it... someone seems to be doing it these days. Online paid advertising opportunities seem to be everywhere.

Paid Searches are not new

People will continue to click on ads and use search engines to gather information. As Entepreneur.com points out, paid searches are not revolutionary - and no on anticipates people to stop using keywords for Internet searching anytime soon.

But there are more places where paid searches can be effective - Google is not the only gamer out there anymore. Your local television station offers banners ads and paid advertising opportunities on their websites, as do local charities, youth groups and more. In fact, Facebook recently jumped ahead of Google as the #1 website for Internet Traffic. And while their paid search capabilities may not have the years of statistics to back their performance like Google, people are jumping on board with fantastic results.

Interested in doing business with Seniors?

Can your CPC campaign target market people of specific age, demographic or professional status? One of Facebook's largest growing demographic group is the 55+ market and they are not alone. More and more seniors are using the Internet in ways most marketers didn't ever forecast. Many are retired and in order to easily communicate with family, friends and relatives - including their grandchildren - many seniors are turning to Social Networking sites in droves.

With Social Networking sites gaining popularity, sites like Facebook may be a great alternative for your Paid Search Campaign. Because they gather personal profile information, many of these sites can utilize that information to better ensure placement of your ad in front of people who are more likely to use your product or service.

Even Twitter just announced they are starting paid advertising too!

But... we will talk more about Social Network
Marketing in week four - stay tuned!

In the meantime, you need to not just investigate and stick your big toe in the waters of Paid Searches, you need to invest and hire a consultant, like DMWebZing who will apply their expertise to your ads and keyword selection.

Cost-per-click campaigns are not for the faint of heart. They take time, money and patience. And like Search Engine Optimization, they do not necessarily have positive results overnight. They can... but results may not be typical for all users.

How can DMWebZing help?

Step 1: Landing pages are essential to a great campaign

Take the guess work out of a Paid Search campaign by hiring an expert like DMWebZing to make campaign decisions for you.

We will develop your ads, set-up your account, select keywords fitting to your business or and build effective landing pages for your campaign.

Once someone clicks on your online ad, you have 20 - 30 seconds to impress them in to making a critical decision. Will they go further in to your site and contact you to do business or will they simply click that big X in the corner? If they leave, it's likely you will never get that opportunity to be in front of them again.
Are you willing to leave that to chance?

A custom designed campaign ensures your message is in front of the user from the moment they reach your site. Don't be like others who take the yellow pages approach of listing everything they do on one page. You do not want to lead users to wonder if you are a jack of all trades but master of none.

Many business owners are confident in their ability to sell their products and services to anyone that walks in their door. What if you could get in front of every customer who wants to do business with you online too? With video you can! And using CityZing.biz for your video production is a cost-effective, local solution to making magic on your website.

From Entrepreneur.com: 10 Web Marketing Trends for 2010
Where to invest, what to test, and which deserve a rest

Trend # 1: Search Engine Optimization
Entrepreneur.com Advice: TEST
DMWebZing Says: AGREE

Consumers have already become more demanding with the Internet and in particular, the search results they receive. Never before, has the Internet seen such a savvy group of people, worldwide: using, searching, relying on and depending upon the content it holds.

The answer here is simple - if you haven't optimized your website and/or begun utilizing Search Engine Optimization tools, tips and tricks to gain exposure of your online presence - well, you should be.

SEO is not a quick fix to increasing business.

While Entrepeneur.com discusses the growing need for more personalized results,
DMWebZing contends that SEO does not happen overnight. It takes an effort in dollars and time to get the best results.

While many people enjoy the immediate gratification and inexpensive cost of DIY websites tools, patient SEO is the only way for your website to be consistently and regularly found. With nearly 200 million websites on the Internet, you are simply a star in this world wide galaxy... one small fish in the giant pond... if you aren't "investing" in your Search Engine Optimization.

Effective Search Engine Optimization can be costly and time consuming, but what it is NOT is a quick fix. You know your business better than anyone. You know your market. You know your competition. What are the buzz words consumers & clients are searching to find services just like yours?

Many companies promise you top billing on Google, but is it using a keyword that is completely relevant to your product AND relevant among people you want to do business with? Congratulations! You may be at the top of Google for a keyword that no one is even searching let alone your best customers!

It's well worth a budget to hire a consultant like the DMWebZing Team to help you evaluate the tools of the trade and test the search results your industry is getting. If driving traffic in your doors in 2010 means stepping up your online marketing efforts, you must ensure people can find you when they go searching for you.

How can DMWebZing help?

Step 1: Website Check-up and SEO Analysis
